Creativity

I was adviser for “creativity’ as well as art. The role was curiously undefined, and had it’s origins in the NAACE Report ‘All Our Futures’ famously chaired by Ken Robinson. If you haven’t seen his famous TED talk you really should, even now. Although it was a nebulous role I was able to play. We had some enjoyable conferences and exciting discussions, which enabled me to meet many inspirational teachers and schools like Ashmead School in Aylesbury.

It also changed my thinking about making and the role of risk, imagination and the collision of ideas. During the Covid lockdown I explored ideas about collaboration and improvisation. I worked at a distance with my granddaughter (7 years) to create a digital, collaborative, improvised story.

So here is the story of Space Bunny which was a joy to make. Another lock-down homework turned into The Happy Pangolin. These were simply good to do. But, with another hat on, they might be seen as educational experiments with creative digital collaborations.
