Experimenting with AI in Art Education.

I am intrigued by the potential use of AI in art education. I suspect there are both benefits and dangers, but it is not going to go away. I am pleased to be exploring opportunities and threats with colleagues in NSEAD.

I have always been an early adopter of new technologies and some of my hesitant experiments are gathered below.

This links to a presentation written in September 2023 at a time when there was a lot of uncertainty and alarmist talk about AI. I had been using it to support some writing and it seemed helpful to contribute that experience to the debate. This simply explores how teachers might use AI to generate relevant and succinct responses to some issues that often arise. In these examples AI produces useful initial raw copy and we change our role to that of editor. The issues vary from preparing for an interview, developing creativity, constructing curriculum plans.
